Are You Celebrated or Tolerated At Your Work?

Most people go to a job where as an employee, they are tolerated. The only attention they really receive is if they screw up. Even if they are given a ‘good job’ comment every once in a while, it seems that one ‘oh, crap’, wipes out three thousand ‘good job’ comments. This is further evidenced by the ease in which businesses shed workers in order to improve profits.

When I worked in the corporate world, I often was the key tech guy that came up with the solutions that brought in extra clients and money. What was my reward? I was let go in the first wave of layoffs.

I contrast that with my network marketing business. I am celebrated by the people I work with, both above and below me in the organization. People like to listen to what I say. I am valued and I value others.

In my company, when you reach a certain level, not too high, they fly you and your spouse out to a retreat near the company headquarters. They literally give you the red carpet treatment. As you walk into the building from the limo, the headquarters employees from the CEO on down applaud and cheer you. You then get to talk to the CEO, President and other senior management who tell you that they work for you. That’s a BIG difference.

Tomorrow, when you get into your car to go to work and you put the key into the ignition, ask yourself, “Am I celebrated at work or just tolerated? And is it where I really want to be going now?”
