At first glance, most people will think that they have a paycheck waiting for them, until they realize that it’s really a scheduled paycheck if they do the work! Every pay period, they start over from scratch.

I know a guy named Mark who was a very successful owner of a real estate brokerage in a hot market. Mark did all the right things with his brokerage and pulled in six and seven figures in profit each year, but he had the same problem as a fast food worker. Every January 1st, the start of his new pay period, he started from zero, just like a fast food worker starts each week.

Mark realized that no matter how well he did in the past, if he didn’t get back on the hamster wheel, his income would stop. Not only that, he felt like he was running up a down escalator with more competitors, a higher bar set from the previous year, etc. It just became harder and harder to even obtain the previous level.

What Mark, the fast food worker and almost everyone else who works earned was linear income. You trade one unit of work for one unit of pay.

What did Mark do? He found out about earning residual income with a home based network marketing business. He replaced his former income and sold his brokerage. Now, every week, the benefits of his previous efforts are there providing him with residual income. His paycheck is already there before he wakes up on Monday morning. It’s up to him how much he wants to increase it which he does by helping other people become successful as well.

The reason I know Mark is because we work with the same network marketing company. If moving from the down escalator to the up escalator sound appealing to you, go to FreeRKCDForYou.com, and get a free cd from Richard Kiyosaki, the Rich Dad, Poor Dad guy, to get more information.

Happy Halloween

In these scary, uncertain economic times filled with the specters of layoffs, unemployment and recession, remember that fear itself magnifies the bad things. Many people worry about the pressures on the family budget, how they will pay for college, and being the sandwich generation, how they will they care for their aging parents.

Are these issues real? They can be. They can also be dealt with instead of just feared.

Step 1 is to determine what you want. My goal was lifestyle freedom which includes time freedom and money freedom. Getting to that automatically meant that I had the resources to deal with whatever came up.

Step 2 is determine how you are going to get there. After my research was over, I realized I needed at least one residual income stream. A linear income stream like selling stuff on ebay was not going to make me rich. This also meant starting a home based business. I chose network marketing because it fit my criteria.

Step 3 is implementation. I have chosen the method of online network marketing as my main focus. This allows me to play to my strengths. This is my success formula. I continue to participate in training so that I can help myself and my team succeed.

One benefit that is hardly mentioned in the sales brochures and web sites is the change in your perception of control. If you are fearful, you are automatically placing control outside of yourself. When you start becoming successful in your own business, you automatically start pulling that control within you. This feeling permeates your life. You will feel in control in all other situations as well.

Let others fear, take control now.

Working For Yourself Can Be Worse Than A Job

Yes, you read that correctly. Having your own business can be worse than having your own job if it’s not the right type of business. If it depends upon you, then the business can wind up owning you instead of you owning your own business.

The key is the type of income. Most businesses create linear income which is where you get paid one unit of pay for one unit of effort. This can be a root canal, a brake job, a web site or an hours worth of work. If you don’t work, you don’t get paid and the most you can get paid is how many you can do in a day. It’s like running up a down escalator.

The type of income that will help you gain time freedom as well as money freedom is residual income. This is where the income continues to come in after the initial work is done. Some exampes would include an author receiving royalties form writing a book, an oil well and most network marketing opportunities.

With network marketing, you can work 2 to 5 years to develop a residual income stream that will enable you to ‘retire’ at any age.

How To Make Money From Home

In today’s economic downturn, people are searching for ways to make money from home. While there are many ways to make money from home, not all methods are equal. You need to be careful about what you get into.

In the past, envelope stuffing schemes, data entry schemes and many more sounded almost too good to be true and they were. The phrase “you will get paid $x for each envelope” means you will need to run ads so that people send you $x for your information. Many data entry schemes are spins on affiliate marketing schemes. The data entry is your affiliate info that you are entering into free classified ad sites.

Ebay is also a popular subject and when properly done, can be lucrative. The main issue I have with ebay is that it is linear income. If you go on an extended vacation, you will either have to shut everything done or train someone else to take over for you while you are gone. I have often said that someone who works for themselves with linear income pays twice or three times for a vacation. The first time is the actual outlay of the money like everyone else. The second time they pay is the lost income. The third way they can pay is if they have to pay someone to cover for them.

The best opportunity is one that creates residual income. This income will continue to come in even if you go on extended vacation. It builds on your previous work. With it, you can have a paycheck waiting on Friday before you even get up on Monday.

Daylighters?

I know things can be tough for many people but a story about daylighters caught me by surprise. Daylighters are those people that are working two jobs at the same time. An example given was a cocktail waitress that worked her graphics design job when her shift was slow. Many people are risking their livelihoods to make a living. I look at this situation as someone running up the down escalator with their shoelaces untied – there’s a good chance they will get tripped up. The issue I see is that these people are working two linear income gigs instead of finding one that gives leveraged residual income like the company I work with. Now, I control my life while working on a part time basis.
